Dr. Theodoros Koutsoumpas

Theodoros Koutsoumpas holds a PhD and LLM on European Banking and Insurance Law from Exeter University UK. He studied Political Science and Public Administration at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences and MSc in Regional Development at the same University. He also attended specialized courses in Japanese Business Ethics in Tokyo.
For several years he served as deputy director of the Legal Service of NBG on Corporate, Retail Banking, as well as, Bancassurance.
He worked as legal advisor of the Private Banking and the Dealing Room of the National Mortgage Bank, where he specialized in complex financial products and international derivatives.
He also served as Vice Chairman of the Board of ASTIR INSURANCE, a subsidiary of the NBG GROUP and head of the Legal division of a Life insurance company.
He was for several years the editor of the scientific Journal “GREEC EEC” and has published numerous articles, scientific studies and chapters in edited publications in the area of Commercial, Banking, Consumer Protection and Private insurance Law.
Dr. Koutsoumpas has extensive scientific and teaching experience as Scientific Associate in the graduate program of Commercial Law at Panteion University and guest lecturer of the Commercial Law graduate program of Democritus University of Trace.
Dr. Koutsoumpas is a member of the Athens Bar Association and a Supreme Court Lawyer.
